We allow our tutors to set their own hourly rate. However, some tutors struggle to decide how much to charge, particularly when setting up their tutor account.
If charging high, justify! A qualified teacher with many years of experience and top reviews will likely charge more than a recently qualified student with a year’s tutoring experience. It is important to bear in mind that clients often have a budget in mind and, while some students may be able to afford lessons over £60 an hour, setting a rate that high removes a large pool of potential clients.
On average, the price range for tutors is between £30 and £60 an hour, but you cn charge between £20-£90 per hour. Newer tutors will find they do better charging £30 an hour whilst experienced and well-qualified tutors will get plenty of interest charging £60. We recommend you charge within this range initially as you can always increase or decrease your hourly rate at a later date.
